About. Anna Omni — concept photographer and digital artist in Riga, Latvia

About me

My name is Anna Omni and I am a visual creator based in Latvia, Riga.

I have a BA in International Business Management but my heart always belonged to Art. I took first steps in doing fine arts, and slowly shifted to photography 14 years ago. I started from taking photos of myself and my friends, experimenting with visuals, and often ended up with creating something too chaotic to call it “beautiful”. Over these years, all this time was spent in exploring different techniques, learning new skills and finding new directions.

I spent most of my time exploring different styles of photography and editing — to gain as much experience in each field as possible.

As a result, I can finally proudly call myself a photographer and a visual creator. And I take pride in what I do and how I do it.

MY SKILLS INCLUDE:

WORKING IN PHOTOSHOP

I started off as a retoucher for lookbooks, but later on it all transformed into a long-lasting relationship with Photoshop itself (12 years) — where I spend most of my time daily experimenting and testing different techniques for interesting, eye-catching results.

Now, I use this tool to bend light and create art from simple photos.

DRAWING & USING PROCREATE APP

Initially, I started off as a traditional/digital artist, so I know the bases of drawing and have a huge database in my mind of all kinds and forms of art.

This comes in very helpful when I need to draw something for the photo by hand or from my mind.

MIXING TOOLS: AFTER EFFECTS, BLENDER 3D, 3D SCANNING

Most of my works feature multi-level approaches, meaning that I use multiple programs for one outcome.

I don’t necessarily specialise in any of the programs, but I can do my research and learn new things fast if I have a goal of what I want to achieve.

MIXED MEDIA EDITING

This includes adding techniques from analog editing — meaning editing photos “in a traditional” format of collaging, working with real textures, transfers, etc.
